Bulgaria decided to be referring to Macedonia as FYROM

Bulgarian Ambassador to Brussels Dimitar Chanchev said Monday that Bulgaria will be referring to Macedonia as FYROM during its six-month EU presidency.

Although relations between the two countries are improving, and governments have held joint sessions, Ambassador Chanchev in Brussels said that it is their obligation.

“Although Bulgaria has recognized Macedonia under its constitutional name, during the EU presidency it has an obligation to address Macedonia under the temporary reference FYROM,” Chanchev said.

Macedonia signed with Bulgaria a treaty for friendship in July 2017, for what?
