Central Asia Metals buys zinc mine in Macedonia


Central Asia Metals, a Kazakhstan focused copper producer, has bought an underground zinc and lead mine in Macedonia for $402.5m.

Central Asia Metals agreed to buy the mine from Orion Co-Investments and Fusion Capital through a combination of debt and equity, it said.

Last year the SASA mine produced 22,515 tonnes of zinc in raw concentrate and 28,955 tonnes of lead in concentrate.
