Construction of WIK Macedonia plant kicks off in TIDZ Prilep

 A cornerstone laying ceremony for the construction of the plant for household appliances production WIK Macedonia will be held Tuesday in the Technological Industrial Development Zone (TIDZ) Prilep – Alinci site. The company was attracted to invest in Macedonia by the old government, led by Nikola Gruevski.


German manufacturer of electrical appliances and devices WIK plans to invest €12 million euro in new facility in Macedonia and to open 400 jobs in the first year and around 1.000 in two years. 

WIK is a family-owned company founded in Essen, Germany as a manufacturing and commercial firm, and the production of small electrical appliances under WIK Brand goes back to the early 1950s. WIK’s headquarters are in Essen and in Hong Kong. The company employs some 6,000 people including 350 engineers.
